US Med-Equip was founded in 2003 in Houston, Texas by Gurmit Singh Bhatia and Greg Salario. Greg Salario, who led the company's expansion, was later named CEO when co-founder Gurmit Singh Bhatia transitioned to chairman. The company partnered with private equity firm Freeman Spogli & Co. in 2020.
