Best CMMS Software for Healthcare: Independent Comparison
This is a placeholder post. Full content will be developed during the editorial phase.
The CMMS is the operational backbone of every HTM department. It’s where work orders live, PM schedules run, and compliance documentation gets generated for surveyors.
Despite being the single most important software purchase most biomed departments make, there’s no independent, comprehensive comparison available. Vendor blogs rank themselves first. Review sites show whoever pays for placement. Trade magazines cover a handful of platforms in annual roundups but don’t go deep enough for a purchasing decision.
We evaluated each platform against the workflows that actually matter to an HTM director:
- PM scheduling and completion tracking — Can it hit 95%+ completion rates and prove it to a surveyor?
- TJC audit readiness — Can it generate the documentation EC.02.04.01 requires in under 5 minutes?
- Mobile access — Can techs complete work orders from a basement with spotty WiFi?
- Total cost of ownership — What does it actually cost per bed per year, including implementation?
- Integration capabilities — Does it talk to your EHR, RTLS, and parts suppliers?

Methodology
Every evaluation follows a documented process. We review product documentation, published case studies, G2/Capterra reviews (patterns, not outliers), and where possible, live product demos. No vendor pays for inclusion, ranking, or favorable coverage.
